This was my first time backpacking and it was an amazing experience! Our guide, Sarah, was fantastic. There were only three of us in the group, though, so I do wish a few more people had joined.
Beginner Backpacking Course: Yosemite, Ostrander Lake

Our guide, Catherine, met us at Tuolomne Grove and we started the day hiking around the trail loop there. We learned about the forest and how it's a sacred place that may hold messages for you if you're willing to listen. While on the loop we encountered a fallen tree that was so massive you could walk/crawl through the hollowed out center of it for quite a distance. We encountered a massive burnt tree stump that had a tunnel carved through it that was large enough that you could drive a vehicle through it. We then hopped into Catherine's car and headed down Tioga Road and pulled over at a few scenic overviews and eventually wound up at the peaceful & tranquil Tenaya Lake, where we had lunch (while watching an osprey get their lunch from the lake). Also spotted a bald eagle which appeared to have a nest in the trees across the lake from where we were sitting. A perfect day in Yosemite.

We had a great time with Sarah, our guide, who brought us to Cook's Meadow, El Capitan (there were a couple of climbers on El Capitan - luckily we had good binoculars), Sentinel, Mirror Lake (where we stopped for lunch), then on to the Vernal Falls trail. We used the shuttle buses to get to all these sites. Sarah was very knowledgeable about the entire area and also gave us tips on what else we might want to go see and even some food recommendations.

10 out of 10, would do again. My guide, Sarah, was so awesome. She was so patient with me and made sure I had everything I needed and took great care of me. Bailey, the photographer, and Annica, my porter, were also such amazing human beings. I thoroughly enjoyed every second of my trip. All three of them made the trip totally worth every second.
