Gym to Crag This is great for first timers or those newer to outdoor climbing. Take your indoor climbing skills and get on the rock. Practice safe climbing skills on top rope, learn belaying outdoors, situational awareness &amp; more.You may have the option to jump into another style clinic later in the day, based on your ability.

Intro to Sport ClimbingThis is an entry level course that provides a pathway for indoor sport climbers or anyone interested in learning the foundational skills it takes to lead outdoor sport routes safely and competently. This course will serve as a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of sport climbing and will focus on developing the essential skills and techniques required for safe and efficient lead climbing on bolted routes outdoors. Who this course is for: You lead in the gym and want to transition outdoors. You have never led but are interested in trying it. You’ve been top roping outdoors but want to access new terrain. You’ve done some leading outside but want to solidify your skills with expert instruction.

Intro to Sport Climbing Focus

Intro to Trad Climbing This course is designed to introduce the skills and concepts required to climb and descend multi-pitch rock climbs. This day will give you a solid foundation for pursuing this form of climbing and make the next steps clear to you!Who is this course for?<ul>
<li>You lead climb outdoors and want to learn the next skill set.</li>
<li>You climb on top rope and want to learn to follow your partners up multi-pitch climbs (note: this course will not teach you lead climbing/belaying skills).</li>
<li>You climb single-pitch trad and want to take your skills to bigger cliffs.</li>
<li>You’ve followed some multi-pitch climbs but want to take more ownership of the skills.</li>
<li>You’ve climbed some multi-pitch with a guide and want to get the skills on your own. </li>

This was a great introduction to backpacking that prepared and inspired me to do trips on my own!

Backpacking 101: Yosemite National Park - Porcupine Creek

Really great people, learned things, but I want to learn more. This experience was so great that I plan on signing up for another trip soon 

This was an awesome trip!  Our guide, Sarah, was great and we could ask her anything.  Wonderful group of women, all beginners. Beautiful setting.   This trip took the intimidation out of backpqcking and i now feel like i couls join others backpacking more comfortably. 

I had an amazing time hiking through Yosemite—our guide, Sarah, was an excellent resource and just fun to be around! 10/10 recommend this trip and organization for anyone looking to experience Yosemite via backpacking!

Yosemite Backpacking: Half Dome & Clouds Rest

I had an amazing time meeting like minded women!  The hikes were challenging and it was great having an experienced guide with us !  I loved having the camp set up with very comfortable cots, great meals, s’mores around the camp fire and great comraderie with the other guests and the camp mom and guide!  Highly recommend this fun filled adventure 

Camping: Yosemite National Park - Base Camp

We had amazing experience! Yosemite is truly magical and reaching the summit of half dome was everything we hoped it would be and more. Our guide Nikki brought exceptional expertise and a wealth of knowledge. She was professional yet authentic. There were a few bumps in the road but nothing we didn’t get past. Definitely do the trip.

Great trip!  I really enjoyed spending time with our guide, Sarah, she kept us laughing the whole way.  I’m feeling more confident about backpacking and already planning the next trip!  Everything was done professionally and clearly, from the sign up to the post trip debrief.  I would definitely recommend Alpinistas to other women who are wanting to dive into backpacking.

Backpacking 101: Hetch Hetchy to Rancheria Falls

My husband and I took the class together. We like the combination of online and in-person training. Ian did a great job during the in-person session. We are primarily day hikers, but we are frequently hours away from medical care during our hikes. We both feel more confident in our ability to handle emergency situations while in the wilderness. Thanks!

Sarah was great.  I learned so much from her and she was super patient with me given how slow and inexperienced I am :)  Planning to book more trips soon!

I had a wonderful experience with my first backpacking trip. My guide Sarah was very knowledgeable and I feel super prepared for future trips now! 


Private Backpacking: Beehive Meadows to Rancheria Falls

Dani was an amazing guide! She was friendly, personable, and was sooo knowledgeable about the backcountry. She also taught in a way that was easy to understand for people that are just getting into the backcountry. The day was also paced well - we had time to learn each topic without it being boring! I also love the intimate setting of the group so that you can get to know the others, ask any questions you need, and make friends as well. I learned a lot and cant wait to continue my avy ed with Alpinistas!
